VPI Program

The Vocational Preparatory Instruction (VPI) program provides basic skills remediation and the integration of academic skills in career & technical instruction. The VPI system is based upon the assessed needs of the individual and the academic and employability requirements related to occupational training. It is designed to identify a technical student’s basic skills deficiencies, develop an instructional prescription and provide individualized instruction in reading, language, and mathematics.

This program is competency based, thus completion time depends on the progress of each individual. Learning managers ensure that opportunities are provided for students to achieve their maximum potential in a minimum amount of time.
