The Cisco Networking Academy offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills in configuring, administering, and troubleshooting LAN/WAN infrastructures.  The program prepares students to take the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Comp TIA Network+ certification exams. It is designed to help students gain employment as a Computer Support Assistant, Network Support Assistant, Network Administrator, Wireless Network Administrator and Data Communications Analyst.

Program Content Includes:
  • Physically setting up and troubleshooting a network
  • IP addressing and Subnetting (including Variable Length Subnet Masking)
  • Cable making and testing
  • Configuring routers and switches
  • Setting up basic security and access lists
Program Schedule
  • New students are admitted to the program every 18 weeks.
  • The course is taught online with a regularly scheduled classroom session on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at Sheridan Technical Center.
  • Full time students can complete the program in (four) nine week terms.
  • Part time students can complete the program in (eight) nine week terms.

Admission Requirements
  • Orientation is offered at Sheridan Technical Center either Wednesday morning at 8:30am or Tuesday evening at 5:30pm. Orientation may also be done online at Sheridantechnical.com.
  • Basic Skills Testing: this requirement is waived if you have an AA degree or higher. The TABE test is administered at Sheridan Technical Center at the orientation programs either Wednesday morning at 8:30 or Tuesday evening at 5:30. You need to bring $5.00 and a photo ID.
  • Counselor interview either in-person at Sheridan Technical Center or by phone.
